Door to Herriot country - Lucy Pittaway birthday card
This birthday card is decorated with detail from an artwork by Lucy Pittaway showing a sheep looking through a vet surgery door through to the beautiful Yorkshire landscape, complete with a white horse carved into the hills and a border collie sheep dog keeping watch in the fields.
This piece was painted in 2016 to celebrate the centenary anniversary of James Alfred Wight, otherwise known has James Herriot. It shows his beloved Yorkshire Dales which served as the backdrop to his 50-year career as a vet and author. Lucy Pittaway is an artist living and working in North Yorkshire whose pastel drawings depict the landscape, houses, animals and horizons that inspire her.
